England Under 21s are into the Final of the European Championships after a penalty shootout victory over hosts Sweden on Friday evening.

Stuart Pearce's side, without unused sub Michael Mancienne, strolled into a 3-0 half-time lead courtesy of strikes from Martin Cranie, Nedum Onuoha and an own goal from Mattias Bjarsmyr, before the Swedes pulled it back, eventually levelling nine minutes from time.

No further goals followed in extra-time, although England's Fraizer Campbell was dismissed for a second yellow card, and so penalties followed.

After both sides missed their first, all were converted to take the score to 4-4 and the tie into sudden death. Kieran Gibbs scored for England, while Guillermo Molins hit the post, eliminating the Swedes.

England now face Germany in the Final on Monday.
